Özet

Yıl 1917, savaş dünyayı kasıp kavurmaktadır. Kentucky'nin taşrasından gelen yetenekli şarkıcı Lionel ile karizmatik kompozisyon öğrencisi David konservatuarda tanışır. Lionel ile David 1920'de, gelecek kuşaklara kalması amacıyla halk şarkılarını derlemek için birlikte çokça zaman geçirir; aralarında söylenmemiş çok şey kalır, Oliver Hermanus'un çoğu filminde olduğu gibi. Yıllar geçer, zaman onları ayırsa da aralarındaki bağ asla kopmaz.
