Özet

The events of the play take place at Dragon Palm Café (owned by Joseph Saqr), where the villagers gather and listen to the singer Dragon Palm, the café owner. The play revolves around Dragon Palm's idea of finding someone else to perform songs in the café instead of him. He held a competition to test voices but failed to find any suitable voice. Afterwards, a person named (Marwan Mahfouz) appears, who has a very beautiful voice. Dragon Palm refused to let this person sing in the café because his voice was more beautiful than his own, fearing that his fame would fade. He forcibly removed him. Dragon Palm's daughter (Georgette Sayegh) was impressed by this person and a romantic relationship developed between him and Dragon Palm's daughter. Mr. Dragon Palm was finally convinced and agreed to let the person work in the café and marry his daughter. The play contains many beautiful songs. ("Ya Bint Al-Ma'awan," "Nattarni," and others.)
