First dancer of the Gulbenkian Ballet, Benvindo Fonseca has displayed body, talent, passion, technique and genius, all mixed up without any restraint, leaving those who saw him in a limbo between the real and the transcendent, dazed in such exuberance. Amid the applause here and abroad, the dancer struggled with an injury that left him in permanent pain, making a superhuman effort to live up to expectations.
